Tapioca desk
Do you like the colour? It's Dulux Tapioca mixed with Websters Chalk Paint Mix. I've given it a shabby distressed look and if course finished with wax.

Lazy Sunday Afternoon
We delivered the beautiful French Provincial Sideboard to the lucky eBay bidder this morning. It was a little bit nerve wracking, hoping it would get there in one piece. Luckily we have lots of packing material still left over, from when we emigrated four years ago. David loved it and had a spot cleared for it.
We then went to collect some vintage chairs from Elsternwick, they have wonderful ornate turned legs
Hubby then decided 'hey we're near the beach' so off we went with the chairs in the ute for fish and chips.
Why do they always taste better at the seaside?

Vintage Hunting
On Tuesday I set of in glorious sunshine, heading for The Mill Markets in beautiful Daylesford. I had discovered that The Dandelion Wood sells Websters Chalk Paint Mix and I was anxious to try it for myself.
I had never been to the Mill Markets before, and wow what a surprise it was filled with vintage crockery, furniture and clothes. I bought a lovely Victorian Chest of drawers and I think I will paint it in ASCP Old White and a Duck Egg Blue mixture. The Dandelion Wood also had some wonderful crystal and porcelain knobs

Desk painted in Graphite Chalk Paint
Hi everyone
at last here is the desk painted in a new colour for me, Graphite. The paint is a very sophisticated slate grey colour with blue undertones.
The waxing of this piece was a nightmare, I can't tell you how many hours I spent rubbing and buffing. Wax is definitely harder to apply on a dark piece of furniture.
This little desk is for sale on eBay for $195

My New Job Title
Today I have officially become a restorer of old and unloved pieces of furniture. I may go back to being an Early Years Educator but only on a casual basis. I will miss the look of wonderment on a child face when telling them a magical story. I will miss singing and dancing when we go on a bear hunt. However life is for living and I love painting furniture so onwards and upwards as they say.Luckily my husband is totally behind any decisions I make, although when I come home with a tatty piece of furniture he tends to have a quizzical look on his face.
Today the weather is very springlike even though its not officially spring until next week, it definitely feels a little warmer.... thank goodness.
Even though I come from England and should be used to the cold weather I still can't believe the
biting wind we get here in Victoria. All my English friends are telling me that they have had a wonderful summer, it makes a change from the cold wet ones they had when we were still living there.

My wonderful husband has moved the camper outside, allowing me to monopolise the garage for my painting. He also made a to do pile and a work in progress pile .... how kind of him!
I am painting six country rustic chairs at the moment and they should be on sale at the weekend. I have also purchased a lovely little hall table with 1 drawer. I havent decided what colour to paint it yet, suggestions gratefully accepted

French Provincial Rustic Table For Sale
This table was an ebay buy and when it was delivered to me, I honestly thought I had made a big mistake. It had 1 plank of wood on the top and the legs were encrusted with dirt and old paint. I really couldn't be bothered and could see no potential in the table. Luckily for me my husband likes a challenge. He got to work replacing the top and sanding the legs down to reveal the lovely rustic shape.
I painted it with ASCP in Louis Blue and voila as they say a beautiful little table.
For Sale on Ebay starting bid $80

Minus 1 wisdom tooth
I am having a very relaxing day at home today, due to unforeseen circumstances. I awoke in the middle of the night with a toothache. I managed to get an emergency appointment and the dentist declared my wisdom tooth needed to come out. After much prodding and pulling I am now minus 1 wisdom tooth. My mouth is numb and I am under strict instructions to eat only soft food. Why oh Why is it than when anyone says that you want to eat the crunchiest morsel of food in the cupboard.

Shabby Sunday
Hi Everyone
Just finished a very shabby pot cupboard. It was in a very sorry states when I bought it from EBay. I began to sand the piece down and found a lovely little insert in the middle of the cupboard, so I have kept it au natural. Not sure at the moment, it probably is too shabby for my taste but I know their are lots of people out there who love the very shabby distressed look.
